I got a man!

My sisterwife/ favorite friend (Dom) brought something interesting to my attention today........... After a couple of years of living the "single life" together, we have both recently stumbled into relationships. We have dope dudes who look good, rub our feet, engage our minds, buy us dinner, feed our souls and even watch Sex in the City with us if it will bring a smile :-). I am SOOOOO googly eyed and crazy in love that I can't walk straight. However, last night while in the club a very nice gentleman asked for my number. I had NO interest in this man whatsoever, yet I stuttered a bit before giving him a consolation smile and the "sorry, but I have a boyfriend" farewell. PAUSE!!! I STUTTERED! Mind you, while I was busy, single and pimping I told EVERYBODY I had a man!!! I think I used the phrase "sorry, I'm taken", more than "Hello, my name is". I would have long conversations with Dom about how badly we were pining for commited relationships and then go out and turn away every man who looked our way!!!!
I hadn't even thought twice about my stutter last night until Dom wrote me saying that she had a similar experience in Starbucks this morning. Again, some dude struck up a convo and asked for her number. She too paused with unsurity before stating "sorry, I have a man."

We are both solid and secure in stable relationships. We love our respective men and can hardly speak for five minute without mentioning how wonderful they are. Thus, I ponder "have we as women become so used to lying about our relationship status, that it's hard to tell the truth?"

Sonia Rykiel Pour H & M, Spring '10

The lovely lady inspiring my most recent hair-do(in progress)is fluffy, red head Sonia Rykiel. Not only is Ms. Rykiel rocking the best signature hair ever, but her whimsical and bold design style keeps hers amongst the lines I browse most for inspiration and fancy.

This Fall, Ms. Rykiel designed a lingerie collection for H & M. It was sweet and pretty, but still just panties and bras. For Spring '10, however, Mama Rykiel is coming with a collection of her signature knitwear just for H & M. Take a peek.....

I'm a little on the fence. Not seeing anything particularly striking, but still looking forward to parusing the garments in person.

The Wackness

I asked my boo to make me a copy of this movie a few days ago and I haven't stopped watching it since. Maybe its the soundtrack, filled with Tribe, Bigg, and Craig Mack. Maybe its the cameos by two of my biggest obsessions, Mary Kate and Meth. Not really sure what makes the Wackness so damn dope, but I'm hooked!

Ughh at UGG!

I love New York! Really and truly! I'm an L.A. girl thru and thru, but the "Big Apple" has certainly stolen a piece of my heart. Not withstanding all of it's wonder, this city is COLD! I mean, freezing!!!!

So here's my problem.........my feet all but freeze in regular shoes. Whether I'm in combats or cowboys, my toes feel like Popsicles and the only advice anyone can offer is to buy a pair of UGG's????? NOT GONNA HAPPEN. I just can't bring myself to wear shoes that makes my feet look like paws! Sooooo not chic!

I did a little e-shopping to find some alternative shearling-lined boots that would be equally as warm, and far more "my style".

1. Michael Kors, $250; 2. L.L. Bean; 3. Rag and Bone; 4. Michael Kors, $250; 5. D-Squared, $650; 6. Anne Michelle, $30; Michael Kors Berkshire, $164; Burberry, $799

Ultimately I think I'm going to go for functional fly with the L.L. Bean rain boots (these are going to work so well with the girly layers I'm rocking lately) and those cheap little Anne Michelle booties (can you go wrong for $30?). Oh, the Michael Kors Berkshire boots make my heart happy too.
Which are your favs? Any suggestions for a girl who "ughhhhh's" at UGG's??

Let's skip the intro.........

Just know I'm smiling.........
